Beach, Please! The Perfect Beer for Summer also Keeps Tahoe Blue
Recently, our team has been afforded the exciting opportunity to work alongside the Brewer’s Cabinet, a favorite among many, and for many reasons. The most significant reason is that they’re locally owned and have a heart to do good and give back to the community. This reason is why owner Michael Connolly decided to develop a limited-edition beer label in partnership with the League to Save Lake Tahoe, an organization based in South Lake Tahoe that has been the leading advocacy organization dedicated solely to protecting and restoring Lake Tahoe and its surrounding basin since 1957. The League to Save Lake Tahoe protects and restores the Lake Tahoe Basin’s environmental health, sustainability, and scenic beauty.
We were tasked with designing a beer label that emphasized the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe, maintained a familiar aesthetic in line with the Brewer’s Cabinet’s current Tahoe Blonde beer label, and yet felt exciting and fresh enough to catch the customer’s eye. What came about was a vintage-inspired illustrated label featuring the National Natural Landmark of Lake Tahoe: Emerald Bay State Park, paired with the familiar typeface people associate with The Brewer’s Cabinet Tahoe beers. Our team developed the messaging for the beer label that would catch people’s eye yet remain educational and encouraging. On each can reads the simple message: Leave the Lake better than you found it. But if that wasn’t enough to captivate our viewers, then “Beach, please!” sits on the back of the label, tells the story that birthed the collaboration, and reminds everyone to put their empties where they belong—in the recycling bin. Inside is a crisp, light, refreshing golden ale perfect for lake-friendly adventures.
