Introducing Doctor Bayo
Pronounced as “DOCTOR BYE-OH,” Dr. Bayo Curry-Winchell, MD, MS, known simply as Dr. Bayo is a trailblazer in healthcare advocacy, driving change far beyond the clinic.
The Journey to Dr. Bayo’s Empowering Rebranding
Our design team was tasked with revitalizing the brand of the internationally recognized physician and trailblazer Doctor Bayo. This project serves as an exemplary case study showcasing the holistic nature of a brand – moving beyond just a logo to encompass the essence of an individual or organization and its purpose. Our mission was to elevate Doctor Bayo’s overall image while preserving her playful positivity and conveying a sense of seriousness and advocacy.
The goal was to create a palette, font library, voice amplification, and adaptable aesthetic that went beyond traditional elements like business cards and also promoted managing your self-care through a digital tool kit development, resource guides, engaging social media templates, and a full suite of sustainable brand elements.
The Inspiration Behind the Brand
We drew inspiration directly from Doctor Bayo herself – from her vibrant duotone style of uniform suits to her dynamic and effervescent personality. Her authenticity and commitment to her mission were the guiding lights for our design. We chose to steer clear of flashy colors, instead focusing on honing into her energy and developing an iconic custom script signature and bold complementary colors that worked with her wardrobe and complemented her mission.

When working on an individual’s overall branding, authenticity plays a crucial role in ensuring that the brand truly reflects the essence of the person it represents. In the case of our collaboration with Doctor Bayo, we drew inspiration directly from her vibrant duotone style of uniform suits and her dynamic, effervescent personality. It was her authenticity and unwavering commitment to her mission that guided our design process.
Rather than opting for flashy colors, we honed in on Doctor Bayo’s energy and personality, crafting an iconic palette and a custom script signature as her logo mark and selecting bold complementary colors that harmonized with her wardrobe and aligned with her overarching mission.
